Sensatia, Cirque Cabaret

Sensatia, Cirque Cabaret

Prepare to be transported to an interactive multimedia performance blending spectacular acrobatics, state-of-the-art visuals, live music, perfumery, and delicious desserts to arouse each of the five senses: taste, touch, sight, scent and sound. Brought to life by Kansas City-born and internationally renowned Quixotic, Sensatia promises a truly unique multi-sensory experience.

In collaboration with Quixotic, an experimental global performance group born in Kansas City and recently branded an “innovative circus ensemble” by The New York Times, Sensatia tells the tale of two uninspired artists – a mechanical ballerina and overworked violinist – who follow a tempting muse and stumble upon the sumptuous backstage of a fantasy cabaret, where their passion for their respective arts are awakened.

Claire Adams featuring Rewound w/ Special Guest Meyadi

Claire Adams featuring Rewound

Musically curious and multifaceted, Claire Adams has spent more than a decade touring, recording and songwriting to hone her melodic instincts and vision. A bassist, guitarist, singer and songwriter, Adams has lent a discerning ear and versatility to a number of projects including roots-rock outfit Katy Guillen & The Girls, blues sensation Samantha Fish, and pop rockers True Lions. Picking up guitar as a teenager, Adams was immediately drawn to songwriting. Her penchant for wordplay and melody led her to Nashville to study, write and perform, sparking an interest in traveling, touring and working in collaborative environments.
Upon returning closer to home in 2010, Adams set up shop in Kansas City, Missouri, and founded the eight-piece genre-jumping collective Claire and the Crowded Stage – a project that united her pop sensibilities with non-traditional instrumentation and led to a 2015 collaboration with fifteen-piece chamber ensemble, The Classical Revolution. This collaboration teamed Adams up with violist Alyssa Bell, co-founder of Classical Revolution KC. and founding member of string ensemble Rewound.

‘Claire Adams featuring Rewound’ brings together Adams’ band (Alyssa Murray on keys and Fritz Hutchison on drums) and the Rewound string quartet (Alyssa Bell, Ezgi Karakus, Carmen Dieker, and Andrew Stinson,) showcasing Adams’s original music with string arrangements by Peter Lawless.
